1) Submit your Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) application in order to be registered to work as a nurse in Oz (can take three months to process)

2) Contact potential employers/ register with agencies
I worked with Healthcare Australia nursing agency, who I registered with in the UK, so once I got to Australia I could start working pretty much straight away! Many employers will accept applications before you even arrive. You do not need to be employed before you arrive in Oz.
3) Obtain your 'AHPRA Eligibility/ In Principle' letter
Once your application has been processed and AHPRA have accepted you, you will receive a letter of Eligibility/ In Principle. This means you are registered on the terms that within one year of receiving this letter, you must arrive to an AHPRA office within Australia with the appropriate documentation, in order to be officially registered.
4) Apply for your Working Holiday Visa
The Working Holiday Visa (subclass 417) is for people aged 18-30. You must apply outside of Australia and have a valid passport from the listed countries on the website. You can only work with one employer for 6 months. Most nurses will be required to have a medical (bloods/chest X-ray) before the visa is processed.
5) Book your flights
This is the fun bit!
6) Find your nearest AHPRA office and present your letter and required documents
