Sydney has everything you want from feasting at delicious brunches, sunning yourself at rooftop pool parties, to sipping luxury cocktails in the sky. Here is a list of my top 10 best bar and restaurants from my year in Sydney!
1) 360 BAR AND DINING
A revolving bar with fine dining and luxury cocktails. You get a full view of the beautiful sights of Sydney and you don't even have to get up off your seat! It is just a $20 minimum spend at the bar to go up 1000ft in the sky! Perfect for birthdays, special events and impressing your special someone.
2) OPERA BAR
The bar with THAT view! Just outside the famous Sydney Opera House and opposite the beautiful Harbour Bridge, is Opera Bar. Perfect for after work drinks, watching the sunset or for a quick champagne before your show at the Opera House. Grab a spot here early for the NYE fireworks!
3) WATSON'S BAY HOTEL
With beach-side views of the city, breathtaking coastal walks and a nudist beach...Watson's Bay is the perfect Sydney day out. The Boutique Hotel is renowned for it's fresh seafood and frozen rosés . You do not want to miss this on a sunny Sydney day!
4) COOGEE PAVILION
The home of Sydney's rich and famous is 'The Pav'. The chilled rooftop atmosphere overlooking the stunning Coogee Beach. Fit with a large restaurant/oyster bar/ice cream parlour downstairs, makes it both a treat in the night and in the day. Head there Friday through to Sunday in the summer for DJs and day parties.
5) IVY POOL CLUB
A luxurious rooftop pool bar in the heart of the city of Sydney. Regular DJ events and Sunday sesh pool parties in the summer. Prepare to drain your wallet and inevitably drop your phone in the pool!
6) THE GLENMORE
Situated in the oldest suburb in Sydney, 'The Rocks', at the top of the Glenmore Hotel, is this stunning rooftop bar overlooking the iconic Sydney Opera House. Chilled atmosphere and great for game days. Fully equipped with reasonably priced drinks and probably the best meatball sub you'll ever have!
7) THE BUCKET LIST
The 'beautiful people' beach side bar on Australia's famous Bondi Beach. Whether it is tacos or tequilas you want, this is the place for you! The home of 'Bondi Radio' means there is always a DJ to accompany your bucket of coronas in the sun. Make sure not to miss the popular 'Bucket List Sneaky Sunday Sessions' throughout the summer.
8) BAVARIAN BEER CAFE
Take a step into Oktoberfest on Bondi Beach! Indulge with $5 steins at happy hour, enjoy a range of German sausages and enter the schnitzel eating contest. Very popular with backpackers, great for after work drinks... everyday.
9) BILLS
It wouldn't be a complete list of bars and restaurants in Sydney if I didn't mention the best place to go for brunch! In the leafy suburb of Surry Hills lays 'Bills'. Feast on anything from traditional Balinese breakfasts to ricotta hotcakes. You can also find them hidden in Darlinghurst and Bondi Beach.
10) MANLY WHARF HOTEL
The perfect location for a drink after a hard day of surfing on Manly Beach. Chilled atmosphere for a bucket of beers, live music and watch that beautiful sun go down. God I miss Sydney!
